SAS Scandinavian Airlines expands its fleet with 3 Airbus A321LR.

Scandinavian Airlines (SK/SAS) will receive 3 Airbus A321LR, which will be leased from Air Lease Corporation (ALC). The first aircraft will enter into service in the first half of 2020.

The A321LR is the long-distance version of the A321neo. It can fly over 7.400 kilometers non-stop, with a maximum of 240 passengers on board. The aircraft has sufficient range to reach Northeast US from Scandinavia, one of the most important intercontinental markets for SAS. It can also reach destinations in Canada and the Middle East.

This is an entirely new aircraft type for SAS that is incredibly well suited to the Scandinavian market and our travel patterns. We are looking forward to launching new routes and to evaluate the A321LR in production, said Rickard Gustafson.

SAS is still looking for which routes it will use the A321LR. Also the number of chairs that the aircraft will get is unknown for the moment.

SAS Scandinavian Airlines has 162 aircrafts with a average fleet age of 10,0 years. It has among other 11 Airbus A320, 24 Airbus A320NEO and 8 Airbus A321.
